Bali Pass Trek

Early Morning:Depart from Sankri (1920 m) to Taluka (2107 m) by road.Drive duration: Approximately 1 hour.At Taluka:Enjoy breakfast at Taluka.Begin the trek to Seema (2560 m) with a packed lunch.Trekking Details:Distance: 12 kmDuration: 6-7 hoursTerrain: Even surface through thick forests with chestnuts, walnuts, willows, chinars, and conifers.Highlights: Several waterfalls along the way.Route Options:Steep Climb: Trek through Dhaatmeer village.Gentle Climb: Trek along the Karmanasha stream, both routes meet at Gangaar village.Arrival:Reach Seema Campsite by late afternoon.Overnight stay in tents.

Distance and Duration: Trek from Rainbasera (3086 M) to Ruinsara Tal (3565 M)Distance: 7.5 kmDuration: 4 hoursHighlights of the Day:Walk Along the Supin River: Enjoy a scenic walk alongside the Supin River.Arrival at Ruinsara Tal: Reach the beautiful Ruinsara Tal by the afternoon.Scenic Beauty: Ruinsara Tal is a lovely lake surrounded by meadows and rhododendron bushes.Trail Difficulty: The trail is not very difficult but can be tiring.Accommodation: Stay in wooden huts at the campsite instead of tents.Campsite Views:Tiny lake of Ruinsara on one side.Supin River on the other side.Mesmerizing views from the campsite.Nearby Peaks:Yamuna Kanta (difficult trek, leads to Yamunotri) to the southwest.Banderpooch Peak (6,387 m) to the east.Dhumdhar Kandi (5,873 m) to the east.Kala Nag (6,387 m) and White Peak (6,102 m) to the southeast.

Distance and Duration: Trek from Ruinsara Tal (3565 M) to Odari (4008 M) is 4 km, taking approximately 3 hours.Starting Point: Begin with a descent to the Supin River through dense vegetation.River Crossing: Cross the river using a bridge.Ascent: Ascend to a small meadow and continue southeast along the river.Trail Directions: After about 3 km, the trail meanders towards the southwest.Arrival at Campsite: Trek for an additional 1 km to reach the campsite at Odari.Campsite Description: Odari is a natural rock cave, believed to be a place where Bali (Hanuman’s brother) stayed for a night.Views: Enjoy spectacular views, including clear sights of Swargarohini 1 & 2 to the northeast.Afternoon Activities: Learning sessions on useful techniques for the upcoming days will be conducted in the later part of the day.

Trek Start: Begin the trek from Odari (4008 m) to Base Camp (4678 m).Distance & Duration: Trek approximately 3.25 km, estimated time of 3 hours.Terrain: Navigate a mountain ridge with a 60-degree incline, covered in loose stones.Difficulty: Expect challenging conditions due to the steep incline and loose terrain.Altitude Considerations: Camp at 4678 meters, where the temperature will drop to subzero levels.Health Precautions: Stay active and hydrated to prevent Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).Acclimatization: Allow extra time for acclimatization due to the high altitude.Overnight Stay: Camp overnight at Base Camp.

Base Camp to Lower Dhamni Trek6:00 AM: Break camp and start trekking early.Start Point: Base Camp (4678 M)End Point: Lower Dhamni (3415 M)Distance: 10 kmDuration: 8-10 hoursTrek Details:Head southeast towards Bali Pass (4950 M).The trail up to the pass is snowy; use previously learned techniques.Estimated time to reach the pass: 2-3 hours.At Bali Pass:Enjoy 360-degree views of peaks such as Swargarohini, Banderpooch, Garhwal ranges, and the Yamnotri valley.Descent from Bali Pass:Navigate a nearly vertical path with scree and large stones.Cross the challenging goat route (narrow, irregular path).Rest Stop: Upper Dhamni (brief rest).Resume Trek:Continue trek to Lower Dhamni.The path is confusing; stay with your trek leader and team for guidance.

Start at Lower Dhamni (3415 m)Begin the trek early in the morning.Trail DescriptionThe initial trail through the forest.The trail merges into a cemented path.Distance and DurationThe trail is 4.5 km long.Mid-ascent up to Yamunotri.Estimated time to reach Yamunotri: 1 hour and 30 minutes.Yamunotri VisitTake a dip in the Sulphur hot water springs.Bathing in the springs will help alleviate body pain.Journey to Jaan ki ChattiAfter visiting Yamunotri, proceed to Jaan ki Chatti.Distance from Yamunotri to Jaan ki Chatti: 5 km.Follow the regular pilgrims’ route.Return to DehradunAfter reaching Jaan ki Chatti, drive back to Dehradun.
